GM Wesley So with the Pinoy Kiddie Chess Players

04.09.2011.  Lingayen, Pangasinan.   Most of the participants arrived on the 6th and 7th of April and every inch enthusiastic to join the National Age Group hosted by the Province of Lingayen, Pangasinan.  We arrived on the eve of April 6 so we can still have a day of rest.  But it was announced later that opening will actually start on the 9th of April and April 8 will be the arrival of participants.   I was supposed to show you the venue, the dorm, and the playing area but somehow got problem uploading the pictures.  But it will uploaded soon, and to give you our impression, two thumps up!

I wanted to give also my two thumps up for GM Wesley So, who delivered a message during the opening day.  It was spontaneous, all based from experiences and it was spoken in Taglish. He did not became Wesley So overnight!  It was a long journey, he said.  He became what he is now because of the many hardships, patience and sacrifices, he and his family have been through.

He is very 'Kuya' to all the young chess players.  He enjoys the pictures taking, authograph signing and playing with the kids.  There was a photo ops with GM Wesley So playing with the kiddies players like me... see our pictures.. : ).   We have to push a move then another player will take turn and push the next move while pictures were being taken.

After the opening and the first game and it was already time to rest, the kids still enjoyed GM Wesley`s precious time.  He came accross some kids playing and he sat down and played with them on the floor! A blitz game with a side bet of five pesos.  Really! it was amazing and a wonderful moment to see that kid-at-heart in GM Wesley So.  Congratulations to you and to your parents for raising a fine young man. You are really an idol!

Happy Graduation My Fellow Graduates Batch 2010-2011

03.29.2011.  It was some few days before our graduation day, me and my classmates are still clueless who have made it to the top 5. My parents keep asking me if there will be a recognition day or it was finished already.  And finally a day before the graduation the invitations were distributed and I am listed in the honor roll! Thanks God! I am able to accomplished what is expected of me. To maintain my high grades in school and strive to be the best in the sports where I owe my scholarship. If ever I failed in school, my parents might they have to choose then because they knew I can perform much better if I spent all my time in my academics. Because more often most of time were dedicated in my training...an average of 4 hours a day! Imagine, what if I have to dedicate that time to my studies?  But anyway I am already enjoying a scholarship as early as now so let the others share the same blessings.  We also share the happiness for those parents who are able to raise hardworking kids who go to a good school to learn and study for free through Academics or Sports Scholarships!

To my classmates in Adamson University Lower Basic Education Department and to those who have been my classmates at the Republic Institute (whom I got to get in touch too because of Facebook), CONGRATULATIONS!

The Top 5. I am the fourth honor in our batch.
