Early Registrants in The National Pangasinan Age Group Chess Championship
Lennon Hart Salgados from Cagayan de Oro and a rookie of the year of UAAP season 73 senior's division and Janelle Mae Frayna from Bicol, last year's 4th placer in ASIAN Youth in under 14 girls category in Beijing China lead the cast as early registrants in "The Pangasinan National Age-Group Chess Championship” slated on April 8-12, 2011 at the air-conditioned Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic
Complex Gymnasium, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Also in 18 under girls is headed by Loraine Salinas from the women's varsity team of University of Santo Tomas and her team mates Jamie Hillary Manzano ,Christine Joyce Laz, Cristine Galan and Nikki Erika Yngayo from Davao City of FEU.
Prodigies coming from Pangasinan Mark Prince Aquino and Paul Robert Evangelista lead the cast in 16 under boys and from UST Junior Chess Team: Lance Cave, Moses II Arcangel ,John Michael Ross Yao,under the wings of Head Coach IM Ronald DABLEO, Reu Gabriel Sebolino and Reinier Medrano both from Quezon City and astounding and multi-talented players in the likes of McDominique Lagula from Nueva Visacaya ,Vince Angelo Medina from Cavite.
And in 16 Under girls, Enrica Villa from Marikina of FERN College,Irene Mye Samonte, Ma.Clark Encar Pernites from Tarlac.
Jerad Docena from Bohol, a rookie of the year and most Valuable Player of UAAP Season 73 Junior's Division steer the cast in 14 Under BOYS, and Jose Castro from Caloocan ;and Charles Daniel Abuzo from Valenzuela, Heroulhes Ebol(UST) and Hans christian Balingit from Angeles City.

Samantha Glo Revita, a five time consecutive Champion of National Age Group from Rosales, Pangasinan and multi-awarded Marie Antoinette San Diego from Dasmarinas, Cavite guide the 12 under girls and Chelsea Gallardo from Isabela, Mikaela Bianca Gutierrez from Pangasinan.
Lejither Uy from Tarlac, and Joshua Navarro from Cabanatuan City Dennis Gutierrez Jr from Pangasinan are gifted players who signed up in 10 under boys category and in 10 under girls our Hopeful's to become Philippine Woman Grandmaster are Eliza Dianne Mapili from Pangasinan , Jesca Docena from Bohol and Fiona Geeweneth Guirhem from CPU,Iloilo City.
Jamler Uy from Tarlac Adrian de Luna, from Iloilo City and Oliver de Leon, Tuguegarao City, Dennis Gutierrez from Pangasinan and Jerlyn Mae San Diego from Cavite are talented young players and champions in their own right who will see action in 8 under category boys and girls.
meanwhile, delegation from Naga City Youth team signed up their ten young players assisted by its enthusiastic Hon.Mayor John Bongat through the efforts of Rudy Alcantara Naga Sports Coordinator.
Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. sponsored of this National event providing the cash, trophies , awards, venue and accommodation for participants. The winners of this 9 round Swiss-system tournament in their respective Age-Group categories as this will be granted by in a close and full cooperation of Chairman Prospero "Butch" A. Pichay Jr. of National Chess federation of the Philippines (NCFP) will represent the country in the forthcoming “Asian Youth Championship” in Subic, Olongapo set on May 14-22, 2011. This prestigious tournament is assisted by Modesto Operania sports Provincial coordinator and Juan Sison President of Pangasinan Chess Federation and Tournament and project coordinator GM Jayson Gonzales NCFP's Director for Grassroots and development program.
Accommodation is first come -first served basis as air-conditioned room at Narcisco Ramos dormitories is limited to 150 persons, otherwise players will be billeted at National Lingayen High School.

ALPHALAND YOUTH RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT

ALL IS set for the staging of the Alphaland Summer Youth Rapid Chess Tournament which will be held on April 3 at the 3/F, Food Court, Alphaland Southgate Mall, Chino Roces Ave., Ext., Makati City.
Seasoned chess campaigners from different government and private schools in Metro Manila are expected to send entries in this one-day event sponsored by Alphaland Corporation.
Players from La Immaculada Concepcion School and nearby provinces like Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Batangas are the early registrants in this Six-Round Swiss System Format competition which is divided into two divisions, namely, Elementary and High School.
Also seeing in action are Shell National Youth Active Kiddies Champion Christian Nanola and NCR Palarong Pambansa qualifier Daryl Unix Samantila.
