NOT WINNING IS NOT LOSING

One of the hardest things in the mental game is to feel upbeat all the time. Because sports are such an emotionally charged activity, we sometimes lose track of whether we are controlling our emotions or things that happened around us are controlling us. The recent age group competition did not favor me. I can`t get my tempo. The first game of the event started so late, 1pm supposed to be start of the program but after all the unfortunate events, late guests, brownout, the event started before 5pm. And the place where we are supposed to play was changed at the last minute. Instantly, I lost my feeling of attachment to the place and I felt very exhausted.

Everyday the schedule varies. And because of this we still have to text other participants to verify if there were any changes in schedules. 1st game in the morning starts either 9am or 10am and usually ends at around 11pm or before 12nn and the 2nd game starts at 3pm or 4pm, so we have to back to our place because of this very long gap. The venue is around 10minutes ride from our place where we stayed in. I can`t recover from the initial lost, and having that long gap breaks my inertia. Even with my most crucial games where I am really on the winning side, I suddenly lost it. I knew It broke some hearts. But that is really not a lucky day for me.

I must stay positive despite my loss to this event, and look forward to remain positive. As it read in one of the chapter of an article titled 'Mind Games - Not Winning Is Not Losing'. It said, "Not Winning Is Not Losing. Next time you lose a match or a game, smile and say thank you to the sports gods above. And mean it. You have been given a gift. Enjoy and prosper from your loss as all great winners do."
