Palarong NCR 2011 - Final Day

02.17.2011.  Daryl Unix R. Samantila of Adamson University, Manila once again showed his gallant on the chess board by topping the elementary boys division of the National Capital Region (NCR) Palarong Pambansa chess qualification tournament on Thursday at the Aurora Quezon Elementary School in Manila.  Participating teams come from Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Las Piñas, Makati, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Manila, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City, Taguig, Pateros and the municipality of San Juan. 
        

Samantila, the Asean Age Group Olympiad Silver Medalist claimed solo leadership when he finished undefeated with a score of 6.5 out of 7 games.   He and John Fleer Donguines of Pasig who came second to him will represent NCR in the coming Palarong Pambansa to be held at Dapitan, Zamboanga Del Norte City from  May 8 – 14, 2011.

Secondary girls: Arvie Lozano (MND), Cherry Ann Mejia (MNL)

Secondary boys: Bryan Barcelon (MNL), Giovanni Mejia (MND)

Donguines and Samantila, Elementary Boys Division

Ocampos and Gayamot, Elementary Girls Division

Barcelon and Mejia, High School Boys Division

Mejia and Lozano, High School Girls Division
